Guests at home Part - II

This is a followup to my previous post. The nest is intact and mummy bird is busy giving warmth to the eggs. Oh yes, there is another egg added to the bird family. I dared not to go near the nest and have been watching the developments from a distance. However I have not seen the daddy bird this weekend. Looks like it's job was to help the mummy bird build the nest and once the job was done, it has absconded. The mummy bird is in nest all day / night. I wonder how she is able to survive without food. That's all for this post. Wait for the next update. Until then take care and keep reading...

Guests at home - Part I

This weekend I had guests at my home. Two birds came and built a nest on the hibiscus plant. The hibiscus plant is more than 3 years old and it has grown into a tall shrub. It is capable of providing the shade and shelter to small birds. The daddy bird is more courageous and it has got used to human presence quickly. Today it was hopping on the ground near by searching for dry leaves for the nest. It was not perturbed and went about its work even after seeing me nearby. On the other hand the mummy bird spends most of the time sitting in the nest providing warmth to its egg. It is bit timid and if it sees any person nearby, it flies a distance and sits on the wall and waits till the person goes away. Here are some pics:

The mummy bird sitting in the nest. Took this snap when it was not looking around. But as soon as she heard the camera click she flew away and sat on the nearby wall. See below:

There she is. I went around the shrub and peeped in and saw the valuable possession of the bird family, see below:

Just see the how beautiful they have made the nest using dry thin twigs. Nature's beauty indeed.

I will provide an update on further developments in the bird family soon. Keep reading :)

Ps: I don't what species these birds belong to and hence cannot name them. Do let me know if you identify them. Also, the egg is very small in size when compared to the normal hen's egg. I zoomed the shot here to get a better view and that's why it appears big.

Last line: Have you come across any such bird families in your garden. If so then please share it here. I am waiting to hear :)

Sleeplessness

It is 2:12 a.m. and I am unable to sleep. Well, I did try sleeping. I hit the bed at 11p.m. after devouring couple of chapters from a novel. And I think I slept (or was I dreaming or was my mind racing through various thoughts), just then I heard a loud thud and I woke up. I heard it near the window and thought there was a thief outside. Though my eyes were closed, I felt as if someone was staring at me. I didn't dare to open my eyes... what if I see a scary figure before me!!! However after few minutes of God chanting and repeated cycles of self assurances , I mustered up courage to open my eyes. The lights in my neighbor's house were on. Probably the sound originated from their house (as an evidence, I could here some more now...). Phew!!! Since then I am not able to resume my sleep. Just to make myself sleepy, I switched on my laptop and browsed for a while and re-read my mails. Staring at computer/laptop screen for a while tires your eyes and I am was trying to tire myself. That's how I ended up writing this post at this odd hour.
Ooops!! it is 2:28 a.m., the clock tells me that I have another 2 hours more before the alarm strikes. I have a long day at office tomorrow and the fact that I am not sleepy yet is scarring me. Anyways I will try acting as if I am asleep. Hope that helps and I will really fall asleep. Bye for now.

Venting out

For past 2-3 days, I have been experiencing frustration and anger. Frustrated because I could not do anything but wait. And anger because I did not expect something like this from a person, whom I had trusted. All I could do was to request repeatedly. I anticipated some positive response from the person at the other side. The person kept giving me assurances. At times I felt like I am hearing to a politician making false promises. But I had no other choice but to oblige. When you cannot meet your commitments, it is better to keep things open instead of pretending. How could you play with some one's future.

Ps: This is not a love story :).

Day before full moon day

The moon looked lovely today. Tomorrow being the pournami (full moon day), the moon today was brighter than usual. The sun had set and the sky was getting dark. I caught the sight of the moon while returning from Khana Khazana (had been there to meet Ash and Sady). As soon as I reached home, I grabed my camera and clicked some snaps. Here are they:

The moon looks bright in the sky whose color seemed to be in a correct tone complimenting the moon's brightness.

Here the moon is playing hide and seek with the clouds. Note the color of the sky getting darker.

The sky got darker and the moon hid itself behind the thick clouds. I wanted to take a snap of the moon with the dark sky in the back ground, but the moon didn't show any sign of coming out of its hideout and I ended my photo session with this last snap.

Thats all of now. Please do not forget to comment :)

Ps: The snaps were taken with Canon SX 110 IS

What would you call this??

Some months ago, my roomie (and friend) Rupa happened to give me a Korean movie. The plot of the movie was good. However there was a small issue. The movie was segregatted into parts and there was only the second part of the movie available with her (she had misplaced the movie copy somewhere and in the process happened to delete the first part :D). Hearing the storyline I couldn't resist and watched the movie. The movie was good and I started hunting for the movie online and CD / DVD shops. I badly wanted to watch the first part you see. Well, I couldn't gain much success as I didnt know the name of the movie. In course of time I got busy with life and forgot his episode. Two months ago Rupa left PG. Last week the vacancy was filled by another girl. Two days ago when we were chatting, I came to know that she owned a small movie collection. While browsing the collection, she referred a movie to me. I played it and guess what??? It was the same Korean movie which I was searching desperately. And this time the whole movie was there for me to see. Well, the name of the movie turned out to be, 'My little bride'.

I dont know whether it is Paulo Coelho's mantra from The Alchemist or The Law of Attraction from The Secret which fulfilled my small wish :). Do you think it was co-incidence?
What would you call this? Do let me know...

Thats all for now. Loggin off to have my dinner. If you happened to stop by, do comment.
God bless!!

Links: My little bride, The Secret, The Alchemist

Ps: The movie is good. Do you watch it if you get the copy.

Scariest dreams

All of us dream when we sleep. Some remember them and some don’t. Some claim that they don’t dream but in reality they do dream but just don’t remember them (this is a fact.. [:)] ) Can you remember your scariest dreams? Most of them would be occurring during the exam time, like running out of ink when writing a paper or arriving late for exam. Even I had such dreams but they are not that scary when compared to the ones that I am going to write about now…

Dream 1:

I am a cop and I am chasing a gangster, (Don’t remember what made me think that he was a gangster.). He didn’t have weapons though. I don’t remember carrying a pistol with me. Two or three constables were chasing him along with me. What made the scene unusual was it was a night of New Moon Day and street lights were not burning. It was middle of night and streets were deserted. We didn’t carry any source of light, still we managed to see our way through. We were running in every possible lane in my locality. Suddenly he jumps the compound of my house, I do the same and follow him. The courtyard seemed to be wider than usual. He runs to the backyard and starts digging the ground. He dug few feet within just few seconds (Don’t know how, you see sometimes unusual things happen in dreams). I was watching him at a distance. And suddenly he grabs something from the ground holds it towards me. It was a skeleton…

Year of occurrence: 2001-02

Reaction: Woke up with fear (obvious, the section says ‘Scariest dreams’). Was relieved to know that it was just a dream. Could not sleep further.

Cause: I don’t know what made me dream this…

Dream 2:

I am fighting few men in a temple. I don’t really remember the scenario which led to this. It was again the night of New Moon Day. As it was middle of night, the temple was deserted. The wind is blowing hard and the bells are swaying to and fro, making loud sounds. This gave a eerie effect to the situation. (Does it remind you of the temple scene at night, usually shown in movies and television soaps?) As far as I remember there were some men who were helping me fight the goons (that’s what I think they were…) There war a huge Ganesha’s idol in temple which had a big Trishul in hand. I was fighting a goon and somehow we reached near the idol. The goon was searching for a weapon to kill and he finds the Trishul in the hand of the idol. He grabs it and throws it at me…

Year of occurrence: Few years ago in 1999 or so maybe. Don’t remember…

Reaction: Woke up with a start and was relieved to know that it was a dream. Was afraid rest of the night.

Cause: Watching too much of Hindi movies.

That's all for now. Catch you some other time. Till then take care and God bless...

New Look...

I just changed the look and feel of my blog :) .Looks great right? The page looks elegant and feminine now. One of my team mate forwarded the link to Pratima Jayaram's blog. The blogger uses a template powered by Final Sense. Navigating to the website, I found out that it is dedicated to provide variety of services. One of them is the free blogger templates. Clear steps are mentioned for using the template in blog. However the steps given are for blogs supported by Blogger.com. I don't know if they support LiveJournal or Wordpress. You can check it out. There are various categories in the templates like 3-Column, Animal, Architecture etc. I browsed through some of them and found this one to be good. This one is from the 'Women' category.

Note: Better save your current template before you migrate. The custom titles which you might have added will not be migrated to the new template. I underwent this and found that the blog roll list which was maintained is lost with the previous template. I have to add it once again :(.

That's one part of the change. Apart from this I have changed the url of the blog too.
The new blog url is http://mortalzlife.blogspot.com/. The previous url http://poornimaprabhu.blogspot.com is no longer valid.
The reason for this change?. Well, I really don't know. Just felt like changing and going underground for next couple of days. Moreover anonymity brings certain privileges you see :).

The blog renovation does not end here. I would like to plugin some more features site hit counter, feeds, messenger, shout box etc. Let me see how it goes. Thats all for now.
Btw.. I would like to thank Suresh, my team mate who forwarded the link to Pratima's blog and my supervisors for not assigning me any task for day. Without them I would not have been able to renovate my blog. ;) See you soon. Till then, take care.

Spectacles story

Phew!!.. after a long time I am able to relax in the office. It is 3:00 p.m. The pantry lad just came and served the tea. I am sipping the hot tea now. I can here some body shouting over the phone in the next cubicle. All my team mates are digging into their computers with wide open eyes. Sometimes this computer job can be bugging. But I was somehow able to take advantage of this. Want to hear it? The story goes like this…

I like to wear spectacles. Right from childhood I have been envying people who wear specs. I don’t mean the ones with thick glasses. I meant the ones with thin frame and thin glass. No matter how ugly a person looks, when he wears such spectacles he gets an appealing look on his face. Those specs always add an intellectual and scholarly value to his face. Looks like I am drifting away from the topic. Anyways let me come on the track. My job is computer related and requires constant interaction with it. I have to sit before the computer for almost 9 hrs. Just imagine the state of my poor eyes. Then I came up with a plan. I decided to buy an anti glare glass :). Here was my chance to wear glasses and satisfy my childhood wish. I went to few optical shops here in Bangalore. Happily tried few varieties (this is the only chance to try few exotic varieties to your heart's content.. free of cost of course!!! Well don’t think I am cheap but I am just normal.. :)) and finally settled for a good anti glare spec with thin frame and fiber glass lens. It cost me around Rs.1200. Well neither high nor low. For the past few months I am wearing my specs everyday. Most of them think that glasses don’t suit me. But who cares, I am quite happy wearing it. Why not.. after all my childhood wish has been fulfilled.. :)

That’s all for now..

Long time….

I am blogging after a month or so. Was bit busy with work… Many events happened in this course of time. I got a slight feel of the deadlines and work pressure in corporate world. Learnt the value of home food J. I went home after a gap of month or so and was happy to have good food after a long time. God alone knows how I got through this month. Working for almost 12 hrs a day, 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. And even on Saturdays and Sundays..Life had almost driven me crazy. But I am happy with the outcome. J Want to take a break from work and these hectic schedules.

Well, time to start another chapter or should I say that chapter has already begun. ;)
Hmm.. saw the new movie Cheeni Kum. The movie is based on a story in which a 64 yrs old man romances a 34yr lady. The old man’s character is played by none other than Mr Big B and Tabu plays the lady’s role. The story line is good and ends up telling some bitter truths about life. Looks like I am writing an essay on the movie.. I think I had better stop at this. But one thing is for sure you cant bear someone elderly like Big B being paired with a young actress like Tabu. It sucks.. At the same time that’s the thing which is adding value to the movie. What else..
Its been a long I read a novel. There is Dan Brown’s Deception Point lying in my cupboard. Borrowed it from a friend yet to read and return. I had better start off with this.

Well that’s all for now. Hopefully I will be able to make next blog entry soon.. Till then take care and God bless..
